Sequestered between Anguilla and Puerto Rico, and edged by bays and fine white sand, the unspoilt BVI provide a charming pattern of islands where sophisticated hideaways await.
There are some sixty islands, islets and cays all fairly close. With regular ferry services between the mainislands it is possible to explore the uniqueness of each island and discover tucked away coves and quirky beach bars.
Also often called the "sailing capital " of the Caribbean, the clear, calm waters make for a superb day's sailing trip, and it is possible to visit several islands in one day and find the perfect hideaway or beach at which to anchor.
Our villas are located on the islands of Tortola and Virgin Gorda.
Tortola:
Just 12 miles long and three miles wide, Tortola offers dozens of beautiful uncrowded beaches, excellent snorkelling , scuba diving and sailing. The capital of the British Virgin Islands, Road Town is the only town of any size at all, ad has shops, a supermarket, several bars and a restaurant. Tortola also offers the opportunity for island hopping, with ferry links to Peter Island, Jost van Dyke and Virgin Gorda, as well as the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Virgin Gorda:
On this island, just eight miles in area, and a protected National Park,
life proceeds at an even slower pace. Virgin Gorda has a hilly, dry terrain with cactus plants, and is bordered by spectacular white sand beaches and a turquoise sea, wonderful for swimming, sailing and diving. Of special note is the Baths area, with its unusual landscape consisting of immense boulders and grottoes.
There are direct flights from London to Antigua daily, from where it is a short flight to Beef Island ( linked to Tortola by a bridge). For Virgin Gorda it is necessary to get a ferry from Tortola.
Alternatively it is possible to fly into San Juan, Puerto Rico or St Thomas, USVI and take a "puddle jumper" flight directly to Virgin Gorda).
